Princeton Review Test Prep Options include iPhone App
Princeton Review Test Prep is one of the best-known ways to increase exam scores. They've come up with an iPhone app to help GRE test-takers prepare on the go. This seems to be part of a major trend in the tutoring industry. (For example, see my page on tutoring jobs on Twitter). The press release from Princeton Review is below. Princeton Review GRE® App Now Available on Apple® App StoreNew York (Vocus) The Princeton Review and Modality, Inc. today announced the GRE Vocab Challenge App for iPhone and iPod touch is available on the App Store. The app is a graduate school admissions exam resource that measures a user’s mastery of 250 words, as identified by The Princeton Review. “The GRE is highly vocabulary dependent. The more words you know, the higher your GRE score, which can help students get into top graduate programs and facilitate their long-term career goals,” said Robert Franek, VP/Publisher of The Princeton Review. “We are excited to build on the success of the SAT® Vocab Challenge apps we made with Modality, now offering prospective graduate school applicants the fast-paced fun and convenience of test prep on iPhone and iPod touch.” Modality created a custom framework for The Princeton Review’s vocabulary apps that takes full advantage of the innovative Multi-Touch user interface of iPhone and iPod touch and includes the following features: 250 commonly tested words on the GRE, as identified by The Princeton Review’s survey of past tests. Four distinct types of timed challenges to test the user on each word’s positive or negative connotation, synonyms, antonyms, and definition. Students can select answers quickly by swiping the screen or shaking the device. Performance is tracked by the app itself, so at any time students can see the number of terms they have mastered. A complete index with definition, audio pronunciation and part of speech for each word. To view all products from Modality and The Princeton Review, search “Modality, Inc.” on iTunes.
